May 2012 Update Kris made the long trip from Illinois to Houston in November 2011 to start new treatments. Prior to traveling there, she underwent a liver biopsy of her cancer cells. Based on the genetic findings from this biopsy, the cancer clinic in Texas recommended treatment specifically targeted to these cancer cells. Unfortunately, many of the recommended treatments are not approved specifically for breast cancer, and insurance will not cover the costs. The high cost for the treatments without insurance are prohibitive, and Kris is having to do without some of them. Kris & her husband are working with their state senator to appeal to the insurance company to approve payment of these treatments. They are also trying to get the drug companies to help with the cost. We appreciate your good thoughts and prayers for Kris. |

Kris Rocks! Event Kris Rocks! was held on April 24, 2010 in Decatur, IL. Her family and friends decided to hold a fundraising benefit for Kris and her husband David, to help offset the mounting medical expenses, relieve some of their worry, and to surround Kris with family, friends and community members to help lift her spirits. Many wonderful family & friends turned out to support Kris, and we are so grateful for all of their support!
